Setting up Outlook identities

I have Outlook Express 5.0 and have set up an identity for each member of my family so that everyone has their own password for retrieving emails. Each identity has been set up in exactly the same way, with identical properties and configurations. However, we all receive each other's email which is really irritating and completely defeats the object of having separate identities. Perhaps you can you suggest a solution?

If each identity has the same properties and configurations, then you are going to receive each other's mail. If you all use the same ISP, account name and password for the incoming mail server, the properties of each identity have to be different so that the mail server knows which user's mail is required when you connect.

If you have separate mailboxes, each identity should use a different user name and password when logging on to the incoming mail server. If your ISP provides a single mailbox for all your mail, then you will have to contact the ISP to see if it has a solution for how you can collect mail for a specific user.

Not every ISP will have a solution, of course, in which case you will need to run a local mail server such as VPOP3 (from www.pscs.co.uk). This will collect everyone's mail and sort it into separate mailboxes for each user, thus eliminating the confusion of one central mailbox for all the users' emails.
